At last the weather is improving which can mean only one thing. It’s time for flip flops!
Flip flops are great for the feet, in that they don’t cramp them in any way, but they are pretty tough on the heels. Wearing flip flops every day can lead to rough flaky skin and a build up of hard skin around the heels.
Here is a very simple scrub recipe that you can make at home and use regularly to help slow the damage to your heels from wearing flipflops. You can vary it by using different oils and essential oils to suit your tastes. I default to a minty scent because I like the freshness.
It is good to make a home-made scrub, because it reduces packaging waste, and contains no microbeads which are devastating to the marine life of our oceans.
1 cup sea salt or Epsom salt
½ cup coconut oil
6 drops essential oil
Make by mixing all the ingredients and storing in an airtight container.
This recipe makes loads so you can use it as a whole body scrub or reduce the quantity.
